Mid-Surrey Colts League

Welcome to the home page of the Mid Surrey Colts League

Jon Andrews, our founder, chairman and secretary died on Thursday 13th September 2018. Jon founded the league in the 1980’s at which time there was just the one U15 league and cup. We now run leagues for U10s through to Under 17s, a suitable legacy to Jon’s inspirational leadership.A biography of Jon can be found under the documents tab.

The MSCL runs an U10 pairs, U11, U12, U13, U14 & U15 leagues based on ability May to July and, during late July/August, a mixed U14/13/12 league and an U17 league.  We also run T20 league cups at U10, U11, U12 & U14 and U13 and U15 Plate Cups for clubs knocked out in their first match in the County stage of the ECB National U13 Championship.

The default playing days are on Sundays with flexibility in all age groups for matches to be played on other days within a specified window with mutual agreement.  The default playing day for the Under 17 competition is Wednesday and for the Under 14s, Sunday.  Weekend matches at U11 & U12 consist of 20 overs aside and U13, U14 & U15 matches consist of 24 overs aside whilst weekday matches consist of 20 overs aside for all age groups. The Under 17 league matches are 30 overs.

The MSCL prides itself on encouraging an atmosphere of friendly rivalry in which all players are given an opportunity to contribute.   To reflect this, Spirit of Cricket Awards for each League Division based on assessments by opposition management throughout the season, are presented at the AGM in November.
